My wife and I bought this for our daughter, who was six weeks old at the time, and she is ten weeks old now. She loves to be held, and we love holding her, but anytime we wanted to put her down to shower or anything, she would cry as if the world was ending. Then we bought this mobile and she is thrilled to lay in her co-sleeper when we need to put her down for short periods of time! She smiles at the three little animals that hang from it, which move in a wide circle as well as rotate individually. She "talks" to them, and my wife will talk to her while folding clothes saying things like, "here comes the ostrich ... she's blue," etc. The music is fine, we do not think it is too loud and there are two volume settings, as well as the option to let the mobile turn without any music. The mobile runs on three C sized batteries, but we've only changed them once, this week for the first time. Additionally, the mobile automatically goes for twenty minutes and then turns off, which is usually enough time to get our daughter to doze off. If not, we just press the button for another twenty minutes. There is also a remote, which is nice, but we haven't found it terribly necessary.
All-in-all the purchase has been well worth the money, and I'm considering buying another Tiny Love brand product for her tummy time.
