Fisher-Price Precious Planet Crib-to-Floor Mirror Review

it's a cute enough mirror but I noticed with the foot with the squeaker you have to push kinda hard and in just the right way to make it squeak.easy for an adult to do but probably not for a little baby.There are mirrors out there with better activities attached for around the same price.I would recommend looking at other fisher price mirrors as this is not their best one.i also recommend looking into sassy and lamaze mirrors.

I returned the lion mirror and got the sassy me in the mirror instead.it's more colorful and my baby loves pulling on the attachments.The mirror quality is better as well- more clear.

Neurosmith Sunshine Symphony Review

This was a gift from a friend and our 8 week old would watch it while we were in the car. He has grown up with it and at 18 months it is still one of his favorite toys. The music is pleasant so it doesn't drive you nuts the way other electronic toys can and our toddler has learned to touch it to keep the music going. He has even increased his fine motor skills by turning the switches on and off in the back. We just bought three more to give out as gifts to our friends that are having babies. This was a great toy.

Sassy Baby Sweet Dreams Crib Mirror Review

Every aby is different but there are some commonalities, such as their fascination with faces and mirror reflections.This mirror is great, safe and will adjust on the side of the crib.I hung it on the wall next to his changing table to distract to distract my son during diaper changes.It's sturdy too.He's pulled on it (and he is a rather strong baby) and it has held tough and I don't have to worry about it shattering.It's a small thing to have but oh so necessary.Great gift idea!

Melissa & Doug Deluxe Wooden Doll Furniture - Crib Review

When my daughter asked for a doll crib for her 7th year birthday, I spent a lot of time researching. After reading all the reviews, I decided to buy this one for the fact that it looks pretty and it is made of solid wood. I wanted something that last. However, when I opened the package, I was very surprised to find out that there are scratched paint on one piece, and cracks on two other pieces. I was reluctant to accept it initially. However, I did not want to dissapoint my daughter. I still assembled it. Although the instruction said "Assembly in minutes", it turned out to be very difficult for one side. I am not a pro but avergae in my assembly skill, and I did even out all sides before tightening. It was clear to me that this is due to the impefection of the product rather than the assembler. Once assembled, it does look very pretty as expected. I just feel that I paid dearly for a not too perfect product. Is it just bad luck or some indication of the product quality? The product was packaged very nicely, so the defects are unlikely due to the shipment. I'd rate the design as 5 stars, the quality as 2 stars. Since the price is relatively high, overall is 3 stars.

Tiny Love Developlay Activity Center Review

My son loved his Tiny Love mobile, and I thought the activity center would be a nice replacement when he grew out of it at 5 months.

Well, not so much. The supposedly simple side for younger babies features a musical smiley face button and a squeaker that require LOTS of force to make them work. My son is now 7 months old and he still can't operate them. (But he CAN use the little squeaker on the other side!) The knocker with the rattle also needs a lot of force, and even if you do manage to move it, it hardly produces any sound as it only moves a fraction of an inch. The two spinners are great and he loves those, but you can get those on any activity center. The unit is quite tall, and so far,whether lying in his playpen or sitting on the floor, he can only reach these bottom two toys.

On the other side, the toy that pops out and giggles is a lovely idea but we just can't get that door close and STAY closed. I went to a store and tried every one on the shelf and they all had the same problem. So he can't play with that feature either, really. And you need to move the lever for the spinner just so, at the right speed and with the right amount of force if you want the disc to spin.

Then, most disappointing of all, there's the music. The horrible, frenetic, tinny, nasty music that was such a shock after having the Symphony in Motion mobile. It sounded so bad that I was sure the batteries had run down, but even after replacing them it sounds the same - cheap and incredibly irritating. As did all the other models in the toy store.

On the plus side, the toy is really solid, made of good quality plastic, and the colours and the design are lovely and bright and attractive.

It's outrageously expensive - I live in Europe so we paid about $75 for it - especially considering most of the activities are useless. I'm quite annoyed that poor old Grandad shelled out so much money for it, and didn't keep the receipt. We actually get more fun out of the old FP activity center we bought on ebay for a couple of dollars to keep at Grandma's. Lesson learned - new and expensive isn't always best!

As a soothing device, this worked wonders for my daughter. She was waking up 5-10 times a night, but with this toy she is able to relax and go back to sleep about 80% of the time. It is sound activated, so when the baby cries soft music plays with alight display. At fist I thought the music was too loud and the light too bright but it worked like magic! Highly recommended!

Taggies Grabby Elephant Toy Review

My son uses tags on this animal for teething. It is really cute and has a mouse that you can pull and will go back to the inside of the elephant's tummy. Lamaze Mortimer the Moose Review

Mortimer the Moose was a hit with my daughter who is only 3 months old but VERY active and attentive.

The moose has so many nice colors to attract my daughter's attention. In fact, as soon as she saw the moose, she smiled and kicked.

Given the size of the moose (fairly large), it is not a problem for her to handle it since there are so many places she can hold on to.She is easily able to grip onto the mooses legs and/or "ring" tail (the tail of the moose is 2 textured rings, which makes for easier handling with little ones that have such small fingers).

The ears are gummy and great for teething babies. But for my 3 month old who has no teeth just yet, she is content to suck on the mouth of the moose which is soft, instead. The nice thing about this is I don't have to worry about the fur coming off and her choking on it.

This moose is wonderful for her motor skills. I like the fact that it is all-in-one--a chew toy (ears are gummy); a rattle (2 hoofs rattle), a crinkler (two hoofs crinkle when squeezed); has play rings (tail is made up of 2 colorful, textured rings); a stuffed animal (something to hold that's soft and cuddly); the scarf crinkles; the body of the moose has a squeak toy inside, so when you press the body it makes a squeaking noise; and last but not least, it even has a hook (ring shaped with opening) to allow you to hang the moose any where you'd like.

For the price, it's a wonderful gift, a great deal and will sure to be a hit with the infants! (BTW, even my 3 year old loved it!)

Ocean Wonders Aquarium Review

It's always touch and go with baby products. Which is why I wasn't sure the Ocean Wonders Aquarium would be one that my son would like. How wrong I was. My son *loves* it. We didn't get it until he was about 9 or 10 months old so I don't know if it would have helped when he was younger (he's 1 now).But now after he's placed into his crib, he immediately turns it on and falls asleep to it. He's also figured out how to change the different settings to music, lights, etc. It's quite obvious when he's up from his nap/bedtime because you suddenly hear the music from the aquarium playing in the background.

I had read reviews at Amazon that the previous Aquarium model (the Peaceful Planet Aquarium) was better because of different features such as lights on the ceiling which the current model does not have. However, because that model was discontinued by Fisher-Price, I had to order it from ebay. Unfortunately once I got it, it didn't work.

I debated on whether to risk purchasing another *slightly used* model, or just get a new one.I decided to bite the bullet and get the newer model at the store. I haven't regretted my decision. I just wish I would have done it sooner.I am completely and totally happy with this product, as is my son.

Another plus - it doesn't seem to eat batteries as much as other toys do.Definitely worth 5 stars.

UPDATE 1/26/05:It's been over a year since my review and I still highly recommend this acquarium.My son (2) still uses this in his crib.Not sure what's going to happen once he moves to a bed, but until then, this will be put to good use.Definitely worth the $$$.

UPDATED 12/3/07:It's been four years since I originally wrote the review.My son's old acquarium is currently attached to my one year old's crib, and she loves it as well.In fact, she actually prefers it to one of the newer acquariums that displays lights on the ceiling which really surprised me.It still works as great as the day we got it!

Tiny Love Double-Sided First Book Review

This is an adorable book but probably not worth the money.I like the look of it but mybaby has yet to be mesmerized by either side of if (had from 3-5months of age).It's also very bulky and difficult to fold up or to bend into the accordion shape you want (unlike a board book version).I would suggest Tana Hoben's Black & White accordion book for kids under 6months - this has been a much bigger hit for us and folds up compactly and can be set up fairly straight out or bent into different shapes depending on the space you have.

This mobile is FANTASTIC!Unlike other travel mobiles which have to be wound up by hand, this one is battery operated.So you can just turn it on and it will stay on untilyou turn it off- no automatic turn off.Also, it has two modes- one which plays music while it spins and the other is mute- so no music while it spins.I love the two sides- black and white for when they are little and then little soft, stuffed bugs that hang down for when they are bigger.Also- it has two ways to attach it- a large lobster claw and also a velcro strap for those places where the claw won't fit.
My little boy- 4 mo. old, loves it!I really hesitated to buy it because I thought $25 was a little excessive for a car toy but I've realized you can use it anywhere!We've used it in the infant carrier, onhis bassinette, etc.A lifesaver on those two hour drives to visit our relatives!We've had it three months and used it quite frequently and still have not had to replace the batteries.

Lamaze Stretch the Giraffe Review

My 4 month old loves it, and has loved it since he was around 3 months old. I hang it from his bassinet, the toy bar on his stroller/car seat, and the toybar on his swing. It always catches his interest and as he's growing he's discovering new things about it. That the feet make sounds or feel crunchy, etc. It's great to watch him engage a toy like this. It's the first one that he had interest in, and the longest-lasting.

Edushape Sunny Activity Wrap Baby Toy Review

I will say that I wish I had found something like this that I found a little more attractive, I think this one is kind of ugly and I'm not a fan of primary colors but I love the idea.We're using it to hang toys on the inside of the baby's crib.She's still a little young to really play with them but I think they'll be nice to help her entertain herself and I don't have to attach the toys directly to the crib (afraid of scratching).

Fisher-Price Precious Planet 2-in-1 Projection Mobile Review

We purchased this for our newborn daughter and in the beginning I loved it. It calmed her down for bedtime and was a great part of our bedtime routine. 2 months after I bought it, the motor burned out-the mobile stopped turning and the projection stopped moving RIGHT BEFORE BEDTIME!!! Great timing! I thought I had justbought a lemon, so I purchased another on the next day. 4 weeks later it did the same exact thing, right before bedtime again. I don't know if it's some cruel joke the company is playing on me, but I'm not laughing. I did find out that Fisher Price offers a one year warranty on their items, but it's still a pain as they won't send me a new one until they get my broken item, so the entire process will take about 4-6 weeks.

Three Musical Settings to Match Your Baby's Moods

Customize your baby's experience and match her mood by choosing from classical lullabies from Bach, Beethoven, and Mozart, nature and ocean sounds, or heartbeat and white noise womb sounds.
The Projection Mobile measures 23.5 x 17.0 x 18.0 inches (WxHxD) and weighs just five pounds. It attaches securely to any crib with an improved, stable mechanism, and it comes with a remote control. To operate, the mobile requires four "D" batteries, while the remote requires two "AAA" batteries.

I bought this for my 2 year old for christmas.... I thought it was going to be like the last one she had... broken to peices within minutes! But to my suprise its still standing after 6 months!! she loves it... she likes to pick it up and move it around from room to room and i even found my friends 9 month old sleeping in it......IT really is that great and sturdy! Lamaze Discovery Shapes Activity Puzzle and Crib Gallery Review

This is a great item to grab your little one's interest.I have used it in the crib and pack and play to help stimulate him and keep him occupied.It's nice because one side is black and white visualizations and the other side has puzzle like pieces that fit into their homes.The "puzzle pieces" flip over to the black and white side to create even more visual stimulation for him.Definitely recommend.

Fisher-Price Rainforest Waterfall Peek-a-Boo Soother Review

I replaced our old Ocean Wonders Aquarium soother with this Rainforest Waterfall version about a month and a half ago.The Aquarium was still working and our baby liked the lights and music, but I was looking for something that would play for a longer period of time.With the Aquarium, I had to go in her room and press the button a couple of times before she would fall back asleep.Not fun at 3 or 4 in the morning when all I want to do is fall back asleep.I had read that the Waterfall soother plays for up to 18 minutes, so I thought I'd check it out.

The soother has 3 different length settings: lights, music/sounds, and movement for 6 minutes; lights and music/sounds for 12 minutes; music/sounds only for 18 minutes.There are 3 settings for the sounds: rainforest sounds without music; rainforest sounds and lullabies; rainforest sounds and classical music.There are 3 volume settings as well.

I have ours set for 12 minutes of sounds and lullabies and I rarely have to go back in her room and press the button a second time.She almost instantly settles down once the music starts.If I happen to put her down for a nap or for bed while she's still awake, she'll quietly watch the lights and fall asleep on her own.And I'll admit that hearing the songs and rainforest noises over the baby monitor is soothing and relaxing as I try to fall back asleep.

My only complaint is that the lights seem REALLY bright for something that is supposed to lull a baby to sleep.I ended up covering ours with a light flannel blanket to dull the light a bit.The baby can't see the critters, but since I don't have them set to move, it's not really a big deal.

Despite the bright lights, we're happy with this soother.

Tiny Love Tiny Princess Mobile Review

I was hesitant to buy this at first, since it was brand new and there were no reviews out on it yet.But, let me tell you - it was worth every penny!This mobile is made by the same company as the popular 'symphony in motion' mobile, so the quality and durability is there.For us, we loved the princess theme of the mobile and of course the cute pink colors.Just like the symphony in motion mobile, the top part of the mobile can be detached from the music box base part.There is a night lite option as well, and you can select either loud music or soft.The classical songs that this mobile plays are perfect for soothing a tired baby or just as background music.Another perk for us is the included remote control.We hang it near our bed, so that we can operate it from across the room (baby's crib is in our bedroom).If you are considering this mobile for your baby girl, we highly recommend it.

Fisher-Price Ocean Wonders Soothe & Glow Seahorse Review

My husband wanted to get our baby a Gloworm.His desire was based on what he remembered of them from many years ago.The current Gloworms are not nearly as nice as they used to be - they play loud music and aren't nearly as cute.

When I found the Soothe and Glow Seahorse I was so happy!Firstly, it's cute, much cuter than the Gloworm models.Secondly, the music and sounds are also much much better - the music is quality and the volume can be adjusted.The sea sounds are a nice touch as well.

Unlike the Gloworm, the Soothe and Glow Seahorse actually does help baby wind down with it's gentle music and ocean sounds.I would recommend this toy any day.

Ziggles Review

I got this toy for my son when he was 4 months old before we went on his first plane ride.The toy kept his fascination for the whole trip and while we were in the car and stroller.He liked manipulating the stretchable links and rattling the balls. Of course it was great to chew on. He stilled played with it through his nineth month.

Reversible Infant-Stim Crib Bumper Panel & Book in One Review

This item is for my grandson, who is 3 months old. He has strong head control, and looked at the black and white pictures and immediately started making cooing noises at it. It is soft, flexible, and very entertaining for the baby. I believe it will help him focus and start to recognize faces. I highly recommend it.

Baby Einstein Octopus Hanging Toy, Blue Review

We call him Mr. Octopus or Old Blue:) We bought this toy for our daughter when she was just 3 months old, and she has loved it from the instant we showed it to her. She's now 8 months and continues to love this toy. Her whole face lights up when we get him out, or show him to her. She really likes the music and water sounds. She likes to chew on the crinkly legs, or the little rings and chewie that he has attached to him. He's soft and washes off easily. It's a good sized toy also, she can hang on to him and he's not too heavy or awkward. I would buy him again in a heartbeat!

Lamaze Jacques the Peacock Review

Jacques is one of Lamaze's best offerings! The peacock is light enough - and the feather panels thin enough - for little hands to grab, tug and pick up without easily dropping.The feather panels also provide several chewable surfaces for little ones who love to put everything in their mouth.

The shape of this toy also makes it easy to tuck into a car seat. While a lot of toys seem to fall out of the car seat once baby starts playing with them, the flatness of the feather panels and the flat bottom of the peacock body seem to help this toy stay in the seat.Also, the feather panels are easy for baby to reach out for an edge, grab and pull back into reach.

For these reasons, we made our peacock a "car only" toy so that our little one, who was not fond of car travel at 4 months, would have something he liked in the car.This toy was an immediate favorite even before our little one really became interested in these types of toys.

Sassy Crib and Floor Mirror Review

I've read other reviews of this mirror and find that it does indeed stand up well on its own to serve as a good tummy time toy. The mirror is nice - does not distort the reflection, and it is framed in soft cloth with cute bugs that have tags and detach. It also boasts some sweet rings and curly cues to pull. It's very bright and definitely got my baby's attention.

Tiny Love Sunny Stroll Arch in Yellow Review

I love that I can tighten this arch to just about anything and it has multiple joints that allow me to manipulate it's placement while it's attached.My daughter loves it.I've attached it to her swing, car-seat, stroller, highchair and I even was able to straighten it and attach it to her crib.I wish more products as diverse as this one would become available.
